If you’re looking for something to do that’s relaxing and outdoorsy with the kids look no further.
Wolds Way Lavender is situated in Wintringham, Malton, literally down the road from Castle Howard. They have their very own beautiful Lavender gardens, tearoom and distillery.
Make sure you visit their website for opening times as the fields are open on certain days from 2nd April to 29th September.
Admission charges apply to the Lavender fields at £2.50- £3.00 for adults and £1 for children between 5-16 years old with a family ticket at £7. They’re dog friendly too! 🐶
The Lavender is in full bloom from the end of July to August, we managed to catch Anne who runs the place with Steve; and they were just about to start harvesting the Lavender this week; as long as there’s a couple of rain free days with a bit of sunshine. The distillery is outside with a seating area so you can watch the process.
There’s a fantastic giant game maze and a newly completed timber trail play area. Plenty of seats allowing the sights and fragrant scents to be absorbed at a relaxing pace. We try to come once a year, it’s just a lovely little place.
We personally love Lavender not because of the smell but also because of its relaxing and healing properties. You can find out more about this here.
Be sure to try out their tea rooms Lavender cake, and stop at their shop before you leave, they do their very own brand of luxurious hand wash, moisturising creams, Lavender honey and of course, their liquid gold of pure Lavender essential oil.
Thanks for reading, opinions and reviews expressed are my own, we paid for the family ticket and purchased the moisturing handcream. If you like the post and would like to read more, please visit my Facebook page here or subscribe for future posts.
